Review of our new CD by RadioINDY:

"Duo What You Feel" by Natural Facts is a jazz/blues CD with an enjoyable, mellow groove. The production and performances on the CD are extremely impressive. The compositions give a look into the feelings and actions of life today. This is a CD that nicely blends classic soul, blues, and jazz. The tracks we checked out had no percussion, which gave them a very interesting and enjoyable mellow feel. The vocals have a good tone and pitch, and the guitar and harmonica work is impressive. "Good Intentions" features an excellent guitar intro and enjoyable, mellow-toned vocalist. "Phone Up to My Face" is a track with relevant lyrics that will resonate with most of us. "On Stand By" is an upbeat number with cool guitar and bass grooves and memorable songwriting. If you enjoy jazz and blues, and are looking for a good CD with which to chill out and enjoy life, check out this CD..

I'm not a professional reviewer of Blues shows but I wanted to put the word out on a duo I saw last Sat. in Wooster at "The Fillerup Cafe." I'm pretty sure these guys have been around the music scene for a long time and this is just the first time I've heard them. Bands name is Natural Facts, Tim Matson and Mike Modlin, both sharing guitar and vocals. These cats have some of the sweetest licks at living room sound levels I've ever heard. Tight arrangements. A great sense of humor. Any duo that does a instrumental version of Arthur Conley's "Sweet soul Music" is alright with me. Take a touch of "T-Bone" add a pinch of "Hooker" and slip in a slice of "Cropper" and these guys cook up a nice batch of blues.
